What we don't collect

Reading a page

Pages are static files served from Cloudflare's edge. Cloudflare keeps its own short-lived operational logs, as any host does; we don't have access to per-visitor data and haven't enabled any analytics product. We run no tracking scripts of our own.

• Fonts are served from this site, not from Google Fonts.
• No embeds. Video, where we use it, is self-hosted. A YouTube embed would tell YouTube which page you're reading, which defeats the point.
• No referrers. Every page sends referrer: no-referrer, so clicking a source doesn't tell that site where you came from.
• Search runs locally — the index is downloaded to your browser, and your query never leaves it.

Sending a question

The submission form asks for no name, email, or account. When you send it, the text you typed is passed to our editorial inbox and nothing else is: not your IP address, not your browser's user agent, not a timestamp precise enough to correlate with anything but the day.

The trade-off is real and worth stating plainly: because we can't identify you, we can't reply to you. If a question becomes a page, it is rewritten and never published as sent.

If spam protection is turned on, the form loads Cloudflare Turnstile, which is the one third-party script on the site and appears only on that page. It exists to tell people from bots and doesn't profile you or set tracking cookies.

What's on your own device

Nothing we put there — no cookies, no local storage. But the pages you read will be in your browser history like any other site. If that matters where you are, use a private window.

If this changes

It's a public repository, so any change to this page is a public, dated commit. There is no version of this document you can't check.
