How this site works

The rules we write under

These aren't aspirations — most of them are enforced by the build, which means a page that breaks one of them cannot go live.

• Two people, minimum. One writes, at least one other reviews. The system rejects a page whose author reviewed their own work.
• Sources, always. A published answer with no citation fails the build. Where a claim comes from a specific text, we link the text, not a blog about the text.
• The objection at its strongest. If a thoughtful critic would call our version of their argument a strawman, the page has failed the reader who already thought about it.
• We say where it stops. Every answer has a section on what it doesn't settle. Certainty we don't have is not a service to anyone.
• Difference is difference. Where scholars genuinely disagree, we say so and name the positions, rather than presenting one school's view as the view.

What we won't do

• Issue fatwas. This is not a place to get a ruling; it's a place to understand a question.
• Tell you your doubt is a defect. If it were, most of the people writing here would be defective.
• Track you. No analytics, no cookies, no third-party embeds — see what we don't collect.

Some questions aren't really about theology — they're about being frightened, isolated, or exhausted. That deserves a person, not a web page.

Who "we" are

Currently 2 contributors. Every page records who wrote it and who checked it. We publish under handles rather than full names — for some of the people writing here, being publicly attached to these questions carries a cost.

If we got something wrong

Tell us — the anonymous form takes corrections as readily as questions. Every page is version-controlled in public, so a fix is visible and dated.
